STAINLESS STEEL | 2025 | H286 x L240 x W180 cm. 2,5 tons
The artwork is constructed as a bird figure based on a pyramid structure, with every detail simplified using minimal visual language. Except for the underside, the surrounding surfaces include two triangular shapes and two rectangular shapes. The only recognizable part is the triangular bird head/beak facing upward.
A bird is a symbol of freedom; however, its true power is rarely expressed in a still pose, a near-absolute-still form.
Will a pyramid shape – even when hollowed out to create multiple void spaces, and even though it contains the inherent rhythm of movement from bottom to top – convey the sense of flying upward?
Is there a contradiction between the material and the thematic figure?
Is power truly the power of appearance, of movement?
Or is true power the power of the inner self, of idea?
Is the still space the inner space of the sculpture or the environment into which it present?
