Story

WOOD AND STAINLESS STEEL | 2015 | H245 x L115 x W176 cm

The challenging confrontation between Natural and Human-made is a major theme in Nguyễn Ngọc Lâm's art over the years.

In the work Branch, the artist presents the idea in a form that combines Sculpture and Design. This is not just a combination of two contrasting materials: wood (natural) - stainless steel (metal-human made), but also an experiment in the interaction between the natural form of the tree trunk and the highly designed cubic shapes. The experimentation also lies in placing the work within an interior space to integrate and create a dialogue with this uniquely aesthetic space.
